A bit about me

I'm a software engineer who cares about the parts of a product people actually feel: how fast it loads, whether the empty state makes sense, and whether the thing still works at 2am when something upstream breaks.

Most of my work sits between the frontend and the systems behind it — building interfaces that stay honest about what the backend is really doing. I like small, legible codebases and problems that force me to learn something new.

Outside of work you'll find me reading about distributed systems, cooking badly, and slowly restoring an old mechanical keyboard.

2025

A double-entry bookkeeping engine with an append-only journal and point-in-time balance reconstruction. Handles multi-currency accounts without ever mutating a posted entry.

Where I've worked

  1. Software Engineer · Acme Corp

    2023 — Present

    Work across the product surface and the services behind it, with a focus on performance and developer experience.

    • Cut median page load from 3.1s to 780ms by moving the dashboard to streaming server components.
    • Designed the ingestion pipeline that now handles ~40M events/day.
    • Introduced end-to-end tests that caught 30+ regressions before release.

  2. Junior Developer · Startup Studio

    2021 — 2023

    First engineering role. Shipped features across three client products and learned how to work in someone else's codebase.

    • Built and shipped a customer-facing billing portal used by 5k accounts.
    • Migrated a legacy jQuery admin to React without a feature freeze.
